Keith Flippen

Keith Flippen is a 35 year veteran actor of stage, film, TV, and VoiceOver as well as a Certified Patsy Rodenburg Associate Instructor and dialect coach.  What you get when you study with Keith is a drill down into specificity. Not only about the text, circumstances, and character but of you. - your type, personality, idiosyncrasy, and experience.  All of these elements are what make up an actor's work and to hone your craft is to bring them all to bear in as precise a way as possible. 

Keith's journey began here in Virginia with a degree from Virginia Tech in Theatre Arts and Sociology, further study at the National Theater Institute, and the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre Music and Film,  His professional acting career includes 75 camera credits, hundreds of voiceovers, along with countless corporate projects, commercials, and on-camera hosting jobs.  

His credits include Will Trent (2024), American Rust (2023), Dynasty (2022), She hulk (2021), Our Kind of People (2021), Dopesick (2021), Creepshow (2020), Doom Patrol (2019), The Mule (2018), Ozark (2018), The Wire (HBO), Minority Report, Dawson's Creek (WB), the Emmy Award winners From the Earth to the Moon (miniseries) and Iron Jawed Angels, both for HBO, Army Wives, and Won't Back Down with Viola Davis and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

In addition to working on these many projects, Keith served as the US Administrator of the Russian American Theatre in St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Minsk,  has owned  and instructed at The Actors' Place for 20 years, was an agent for four years, produced commercials for television, and has worked as dialect coach for television and theatre.   

Keith wears his passion for his craft on his sleeve, which is evident to anyone who has ever studied with him. He is also a firm believer in actors as artists, always seeking to grow and refine what they do. Keith brings that passion, along with his considerable experience and talent, to the students of The Actors' Place.
